Downtown merchants will decorate their shops, dress in costumes and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters for two hours, she said.
She added that they will follow the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and CDC guidelines including social distancing and mask wearing.
Participating merchants include Bombshell Beauty Parlor, Jeff Brown Bail Bonds, Comfort Keepers, Fratelli’s Famiglia Ristorante, Salato Deli, Le Torte Dolci Bakery, Champion City Guide & Supply, Winan’s Chocolates & Coffees, Stella Bleu Bistro, Sip & Dipity Paint Bar, Sibcy Cline Realtors, Path Integrated Healthcare, Mary Ellen’s Studio, COhatch The Market, The Market Bar, Painted Pepper, North High Brewing Company, Ironworks Waffle Café, Crust & Company, Cyclotherapy and Courtyard Marriott/Mela Urban Bistro.

Tackett said Dan Freeman, owner of Le Torte Dolci, Salato Deli and Crust & Company, has helped her organize the trick-or-treat.
“Now we’re getting some businesses that don’t have downtown business wanting to set-up," Tackett said.
She explained that they are figuring out where those businesses will set-up and encourages other Springfield businesses that are not located downtown to reach out.
Freeman told the News-Sun that several downtown restaurants are offering DORA drinks for adults as kids trick-or-treat.
The downtown merchant trick-or-treat is designed to encourage the community to come downtown and shop local.
“We are loaded up on merchandise because there is no one down here shopping," Tackett said.
“Keep supporting the small businesses to get us all through it,” she added. "It’s a community effort. If we don’t support our local businesses, we will end up with a ghost town.”
